Are you doing all you can to keep your child safe in the car?
As parents, we worry about so many things that can threaten our children’s health and safety. But in the midst of our busy lives, with hours spent every week driving our children here and there, it’s easy to slip up on the simple things we can do that really matter. Heather Darby, child passenger safety coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, knows that traffic accidents remain the leading cause of death and injury for children under 14 years of age. And she has the latest information on what we need to do — not only to comply with the law, but to go beyond the law to best practices to protect our children from harm.
Reflecting on the information in this week’s Mom Enough show on traffic safety, what are you doing right in keeping your children safe in the car? What could you improve? Share your thoughts in our REPLY space below!
