Practical Tips for Helping Children with ADHD Succeed

Taylor-Kraus&Borba_hsOctober is ADHD Awareness Month, a perfect time to move beyond discussions of the prevalence and possible causes of this widespread problem to practical ways to reduce the stress and conflict often experienced in families living with ADHD. This week’s Mom Enough guests are Dr. Michele Borba, author and frequent Today Show contributor, and Elaine Taylor-Klaus, parenting coach and mom of three children with ADHD. (Elaine also was diagnosed with ADHD herself!) Together they bring tried and true advice for helping children manage the challenges of daily life. And they do it with empathy born of their own successes and failures.

Has someone in your family or circle of friends been diagnosed with ADHD? What feelings do you have when confronted with that person’s difficulty staying focused and organized? Share your thoughts in our REPLY space!

Great program. I liked that you reinforced that it is OK for them to play with younger children. I try to focus on simply having a friend or two.

Thanks for your comment, Sue. I thought these two experts (and moms) had great practical advice, and I’m glad you appreciated our interview with them. Thanks for tuning in to Mom Enough!
